Shun Tak Group (0242) announced yesterday that it has entered into a joint venture investment agreement to participate in healthcare real estate projects. Sindh will account for 30% of the joint venture company, with an investment of US$150 million, equivalent to more than HK$1,172 million, which will be paid with working capital and borrowings. According to the joint venture agreement, Shun Tak will be involved in potentially large-scale integrated real estate projects in the Mainland connecting high-speed rail provincial capitals. These projects are mainly used for health care purposes, including hotels, retail elements, and healthcare-related facilities. Shun Tak appointed a director on the initial board of directors of the joint venture company, which accounted for approximately 35.5% of the voting rights. Shun Tak and Peng Ruili will jointly set up asset management and project management companies, as well as hotel management companies to co-operate with them. According to the joint venture agreement, apart from Sindh, other joint venture partners including Peng Ruili, Chen Youhan, Chen Youqing family Banbang Bank and Singapore Bread Story each accounted for 45%, 10% and 5%, while other investors accounted for 10%.
